A product of many of the challenges facing overlooked communities, he approaches his work with a mission to empower communities seeking opportunity and change.
His experience spans government, campaigns, and policy spaces, including work in the New Jersey General Assembly as Director of Communications for Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy, campaign communications during competitive election cycles, experience on Capitol Hill, and policy and cultural convenings connected to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.
He has seen firsthand how economic pressures can devastate families. After losing his father to suicide, Jameel developed a deep commitment to public service and a belief in the power of storytelling to move people and inspire change.
